Not only the "Good Time" of the title track--a dance floor, barroom anthem with a hint of Chuck Berry--but tender times ("Right Where I Want You"), mournful times ("Sissy's Son"), lovelorn times ("Listen to Your Senses"), kick-back times ("Laid Back 'n Low Key"), even times of marital monotony ("Nothing Left To Do"). With his return to more traditional country, he channels his inner George Jones on "When the Love Factor's High" and "If You Want to Make Me Happy," takes a bluegrass turn on the uptempo, downbeat "Long Long Way," teams with Martina McBride on "Never Loved Before," eulogizes his father on "Small Town Southern Man" and closes with the honky-tonk gospel of "If Jesus Walked the World Today." Since Jackson is the sole songwriter here, the listener gets a sense of every side of his multifaceted musical personality. --Don McLeese | | | |

GOOD TIME ALAN JACKSON Feb 01, 2010 I ALWAYS HAVE LIKED ALAN JACKSONS MUSIC. THIS CD IS VERY GOOD BECAUSE ALL THE SONGS ARE VERY GOOD NOT LIKE SOME WHERE YOU YOU GET MAYBE TWO OR THREE.IF I WERE YOU I WOULD BUY THIS.
VERY CATCHY CD BY ALAN Oct 02, 2009 This one took a little while to grow on me. However, it has and I can't keep it out of my Cd Rom. My favorite is the cut with Martina McBride. "I Wish I Could Back Up is also up there as a favorite. The "Small Time Southern Man" is classic Alan Jackson. Kind of reminds me of "Little Man." "This Time" really makes one think about life and what really matters.
I think the only song I don't care for is the last cut. "If Jesus Walked The World Today." I think this song is a little sacreligious. After having put out "Precious Memories," I have to say I'm disappointed that Alan would produce such a off color song such as this. Other than that one, a definite 5 star album. This album and "What I Do" are probably my favorite albums by Alan Jackson. I definitely recommend it.
Barb's comments Sep 19, 2009 I think that Alan Jackson is a great song writer, and this just ads to his long list of great songs.
Good Time! Jul 22, 2009 I purchased this CD because of the song "Sissy's Song". My sister died recently and this song helps me deal with her loss. The rest of the songs are typical Alan Jackson, which to me is great. The song Good Time makes you happy and feel like having a good time. I enjoy this CD and highly recommend it to all Alan Jackson fans.
Wonderful CD. A lot of songs on CD for the price. Jun 27, 2009 Alan Jackson's Cd has a lot of songs on it for the price I paid. Fast delivery of CD.
